Working together cooperatively with clients, staff, operatives and suppliers means a more reliable process – and better results – for you. As part of that process, we measure every part of our service delivery. In addition, you can be confident that every aspect of our service ultimately has Director-level responsibility within BDL.

We set the benchmark for other trade contractors to follow.

With careful planning and expert training from the outset, we aim to avoid bottlenecks and hiccups on a project – and keep our (and your) costs lower. We recognise that a quality result is only possible with skilled and motivated labour. That’s why we invest in professional training for our team, and back this up with guidance and close supervision at all times. We do this through:

  • Monthly quality inspection sheets, completed by senior management, to check that standards remain high;
  • Close, on-site supervision from the start, including random site visits by us;
  • Extensive range of standard and site specific ‘Toolbox Talks’, regularly delivered by supervisors – over 20,000 hours of Talks (on average) delivered every year;
  • Regular quality and safety checks, so that our labour resource works as a team, to the standards needed – and to programme;
  • Pre-start meetings, both internally and with our clients, to check technical requirements and standards;
  • Clear and swift procedures to identify, manage and resolve problems before they grow;

Find out how we safeguard your reputation with our Environmental Policy.

BDL are approved Installers for “Metsec” lightweight steel framing systems, approved licensed applicators of “STO” render finishes, members of the Weber Group “Quality” Club and a member of the Federation of Plastering and Dry Wall Contractors (FPDC).

The FPDC works closely with trade associations in lobbying the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), for example, to include additional trades under the Construction Related Occupation (CRO) card scheme. We are working towards a fully-carded workforce through the Construction Skills Certifications Scheme (CSCS).
